Plants for the garden...

The important thing to remember when building out your website is that you can't be all things to all people. Visitors to the Internet looking for specific plant information are going to use a search engine like Google, Yahoo, or Ask. So resist the urge to cram as much information on the page as you can.

You should list the plant categories:

Annuals - usually planted in the spring and are replanted each year

Perennials - depending upon your growing zone they will return each year

Flowering Shrubs - we carry both decidious and evergreen

Trees - we carry flowering, shade trees and evergreens

Aquatic Plants - we offer hardy and tropical varieties of flowering waterlily

Holiday Plants - we carry plants for holidays from Valentine's Day to Christmas!

This is where you should call attention to your featured plants. We recommend promoting whatever is flowering at the time. This can include annuals, perennials, and shrubs. In this example we will use a two column setup. That means that the visitor will read these two columns as one piece of information. Either way it is important to keep the information short and sweet. Visitors to websites generally view with their mouse, meaning they scan and look for hyperlinks to other pages.

XYZ Garden Center is a fictional garden center designed to showcase the website design ideas and capabilities of Sunrise Marketing. In the case of XYZ Garden Center it is located in Sunnyvale, CA. Usually we would add to this 'footer' information that would contain keywords, such as XYZ Garden Center is a garden center that offers plants, flowers and landscape material for home owners, as well as professional landscape design and installation service.
